Lights Of Lapland | 4K

“Lights of Lapland” is and will be my last work of 2021, a year that was still difficult for the travel industry, a year that brought me back to wonderful Iceland, but also made me discover a new land, Swedish Lapland.
I had planned the trip for January 2021, but due to the pandemic restrictions I had to cancel, but just before Easter I found a last minute flight for Luleå with final destination Kiruna to reach by car.
I discovered a beautiful land still disputed between winter and spring; the trip was short and I didn’t have the material time to make enough clips for a timelapse, especially because some days were marked by major blizzards even if with temperatures only a few degrees below zero.
So I decided to leave at the end of November 2021, to complete the job, this time landing directly in Kiruna Airport and with the hope of finding the full winter, but I certainly did not believe that I would experience temperatures as low as -38 ° C for several nights!
The aurora once again gave me an incredible show both from some of my “secret” spots near Kiruna and from the very famous Abisko, truly a unique spectacle in a unique land that deserves to be seen and lived once in life!
It was a colossal job especially in post-production, the processor worked day and night for about a week exporting clean clips in 8K ProRes downscaled then in 4K UHD for greater detail, great importance was also given to color grading, but the greatest work has been done in removing all those human disturbing elements that for rudeness risked compromising nights and nights of work: led flashlights on for no reason, flash used to shoot at night, people who remained in the car due to the cold with the headlights on, all disturbing elements created by people who do not deserve the vision, magic and sacredness of the Northern Lights.
At the same time I also made videos to shoot the Northern Lights in real time and which unfortunately are to be thrown away as full of people screaming, shouting, talking, cars that come and go…no one like me sat there on the snow to contemplate the Northern Lights in silence, for them it was like being at a party, or worse, at a market…I believe that not everyone deserves to see certain shows of Mother Nature!
I hope as always to offer you a nice video, I invite you to put a thumbs up, subscribe to the channel and tick the bell to stay up to date on all my latest videos!
Enjoy it!
